1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using MenuSquared, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including restaurant owners, team members, and visitors viewing published menus.
2. Account Registration
You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. You may not create accounts for others without their consent or create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits.
3. Subscription Plans and Billing
MenuSquared offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges at the rate displayed at checkout. You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your plan at any time through the billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
4. Plan Limits
Each plan has defined limits on published menus and AI generation credits. Free plans are limited to 1 published menu and 10 AI generations per month. Pro and Business plans include unlimited menus and AI generations. If you downgrade, your published menus beyond the new plan's limit will remain accessible but you will not be able to publish additional menus until you are within the limit.
5. Your Content
You retain full ownership of all menu content, images, and branding you create or upload to MenuSquared. By publishing a menu, you grant MenuSquared a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the service (serving your menu to viewers, generating PDFs, and rendering previews). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
6. AI-Generated Content
AI features provide suggestions for menu descriptions, pricing, and seasonal items. AI-generated content is provided as-is, without guarantees of accuracy, originality, or suitability. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all AI-generated text before publishing. MenuSquared is not liable for any claims arising from AI-generated content you choose to publish.
7. Team Collaboration
Business plan users can invite team members with assigned roles (admin, editor, viewer). Account owners are responsible for the actions of their team members. Team members must have their own valid accounts. Invitations expire after 7 days and can be revoked at any time.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use MenuSquared to: upload content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes on others' intellectual property; distribute malware or attempt to compromise the service's security; scrape data, reverse-engineer the service, or access other users' data; use automated tools to create accounts or generate excessive load; resell or redistribute the service without authorization; or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
9. Published Menu URLs
Published menus are accessible via squared.menu and menusquared.com URLs. Custom slugs are available on a first-come, first-served basis. We reserve the right to reclaim slugs that are inactive, misleading, or violate these terms. URL availability is not guaranteed indefinitely.
10. Service Availability
We strive to keep MenuSquared available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of planned downtime. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.
11. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
12. Limitation of Liability
MenuSquared is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MenuSquared and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of MenuSquared after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
